2026 Project Brief
Another year of reading begins!
This year, I’m not giving myself an overall goal. No number of books to aim for, no prompts, no bingo. I’m just going to read for pleasure and write a little about what I read.
And I’ll write about them like this:
Summary
As usual, I’ll write up a short summary of the book. I will try to avoid spoilers, but I can’t guarantee that I won’t give something away.
Tags
I will list tags that apply to the book, in the style of Archive of Our Own tags, so that readers can see what the book might contain and cover, what genre it is in, etc. On AO3, tags are listed separated by a comma and tell the potential reader what the story is about. What genre is it? What characters are in it? Are there LGBT characters? What themes are present? Are there any potential triggers in the story? Tags aren’t a summary, but they are helpful in determining what elements are present and what might interest you as a reader.
Also, if you’ve read the book I’m talking about, please feel free to suggest additional tags in the comments!
Sparked Joy
Did the book spark joy? Did it make me feel things? Do I want to keep a copy on my shelf? Would I read it again?
I will give each book a rating out of five, for how much (or little) it sparked joy for me personally. This is not a judgment on whether a book is “bad” or “good.” It is purely about my personal experience and enjoyment of reading the book.
Favorite Quotes
I’ll share some of my favorite quotes from the book.
Action Items
Similar to the “Something I Learned” and “Something I’m Inspired to Do” categories, I’ll name some actions that this book inspires.
